Pranab to confer Akademi awards, fellowships tomorrow

At a function in Rashtrapati Bhavan here, 11 eminent personalities will receive Akademi Fellowships and 36 artists Akademi Awards for 2011.

Those conferred with the highest honour of Akademi fellowship will receive Rs three lakh, besides an angavastram and tamrapatra, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said in a statement today.

The eminent representatives of music, dance and theatre to be honoured with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for 2011 will receive Rs one lakh, Angavastram and Tamrapatra.
