SL navy damages 7 boats of Tamil Nadu fishermen

Seven boats of Tamil Nadu fishermen were today damaged allegedly by Sri Lankan naval personnel off Nedhunthivu in the island nation.

The naval personnel also damaged their nets, warned them against fishing in their territorial waters and chased them away, Fisheries Department officials here said.

About 2,148 fishermen from this hamlet had put out to sea in 537 boats last night, they said.
