Mentha oil prices rose 0.15 per cent to Rs 917.40 per kg in futures trade today as traders took to creating fresh positions, triggered by tight stocks on restricted supplies from producing regions at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September was trading higher by Rs 1.40, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 917.40 per kg in a business turnover of 145 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in October gained 90 paise, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 929.40 per kg in 86 lots.
Market analysts said besides tight stock position on restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh in the physical market, pick-up in demand from consuming industries mainly influenced mentha oil prices.
