Two police officials were killed when a speeding truck collided head-on with the motorcycle they were travelling on near Budhni town, police said today.
The incident occurred last night when the duo, identified as Sub-inspector Sunil Verma (58) and Assistant Sub-Inspector R D Singh (55), were returning to their workplace after carrying out investigation in a case, Sehore Superintendent of Police Manish Kapooria said.
The truck hit the motorcycle head-on, killing the duo on the spot, he said.
The truck driver fled the spot following the incident leaving his vehicle behind, Kapooria said, adding, efforts are on to nab him.
A case has been registered against the unidentified truck driver, the SP said, adding an investigation is on in the matter.
