Two women trampled to death by wild elephants, another injured

A herd of wild elephants entered Janghal basti area in Amlokhi Tea Estate of Kaliabor area of the district this morning and trampled the two women and injured the other, official sources said.

The dead women have identified as Litia Lakra and Rumi Lakra while the injured as Rekhamoni Lakra.

The elephants also damaged tea crops and some houses before retreating to the nearby jungles, sources added.
