Woman Naxal killed in alleged encounter in Maharashtra

A woman Naxal was killed in an alleged encounter with police in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra today.

The incident took place around 3.30 pm when a team of the anti-Naxal C-60 commando force was conducting a combing operation in Mouza Mendhari forest area, a police official said.

Naxals opened fire on the commandos, leading to a gun-battle, he said.

After the ultras retreated, body of a woman Naxal was found, alongwith arifle and some explosive material.

The woman was yet to be identified, the police official said.
