'Good Quality Credit Offtake Is Low

Last year, it starter direct funding of infrastructure projects. Hemant Kanoria, managing director, spoke to Manish Khanduri about his companys positioning in this segment and its future prospects.
Q. What is your outlook on funding for small infrastructure projects ?
A. The Rakesh Mohan committee report says that India will require $100-$150 billion if all the needs of the infrastructure sector are to be met. There is going to be a huge between demand and supply. In fact no one can even dream of putting in even $10 billion. Can you think of any single company or institution in India capable of investing such a sum? My point is: We have seen in the past few years that apart from the funding requirement, large projects invariably get into a mess
