Aluminium Production Crosses Mark

Production in the public sector units, including Bharat Aluminium
Company (Balco) and National Aluminium Company (Nalco) stood at 28,048 tonne compared to the target of 26,512 tonne, an official statement said yesterday.
Balco achieved a production of 8,118 tonne as against a target of 8,012 tonne while in Nalco it was 19,930 tonne compared to its target of 18,500 tonne, it said.

In the private sector, though Indian Aluminium Company (Indal) exceeded its target by 72 tonne at 3,731 tonne, Hindustan Aluminium Company (Hindalco) fell short by 28 tonne at 21,176 tonne against the target of 21,204 tonne, it said, adding Madras Aluminium Company (Malco) production was 158 tonne below its target of 2,575 tonne.
Exports by Nalco was 7,985 tonne while the company exported 35,645 tonne of alumina.
Though aluminium production in the public sector exceeded its target, copper production by HCL fell short by 10 tonne at 3,590 tonne against a target of 3,600 tonne, the release said.
The production of continuous cast copper rod touched 2,854 tonne as against the target of 2,800 tonne.
Zinc production surpassed its target by 405 tonne in July, while lead production fell short of its target by 727 tonne, the release said.

Industries touched a production of 2,643 tonne as against a target of 2,500 tonne.
In case of lead, while production in HZL fell by 142 tonne at 2,508 tonne, it fell by 585 tonne in Indian Lead at 415 tonne as against the target of 1,000 tonne.
Gold production was marginally higher than its target of 159.434 kg at 167.226 kg. While production by Bharat Gold Mines (BGML) stood at 3.44 kg in July, it was 163.79 kg by Hutti Gold Mines (HGML), the release added.
