At & T To Offer New Flat Long-Distance Rate

AT&T said it is offering the industry's first single-rate, long-distance calling plan available 24 hours a day. The company said its new plan, One Rate, will allow consumers to make direct-dialed long-distance calls at any time to any location in the US for a flat rate of $0.15 a minute. Separately, AT&T in a second press release said its third quarter earnings could be as much as 10 per cent below analysts mean estimate of $0.92 per share due to competitive pressures.
