Clariant Net Jumps 20% To Rs 7.96 Cr

Better performance in the second half and higher other income has resulted in net profit improving by 20 per cent from Rs 6.62 crore to Rs 7.96 crore in 1996-97. Sales, too, increased by 12 per cent.

Clariants operating profit margins increased to 10.52 this year from last years 9.66, while the earnings per share (EPS) went up to Rs 10.1 from Rs 8.30 earlier. The companys board of directors has declared a 35 per cent dividend.

Performance in the second half was better as the sales turnover increased from Rs 74.13 crore in the first half to Rs 88 crore. Net profit also has been higher in the second half at Rs 4.65 crore as compared with Rs 3.31 crore in the first half.

 

Other income recorded a 55 per cent jump from Rs 2.78 crore in 1995-96 to Rs 4.32 crore this year. Net turnover at Clariant went up from Rs 144.46 crore last year to Rs 162.13 crore in 1996-97, while gross profit rose almost by 29 per cent from Rs 15.39 crore to Rs 19.8 crore. Net profit, too, rose from Rs 6.62 crore to Rs 7.96 crore.
