Corp Buys Jute In 7 States At Support Rates

The JCI is purchasing raw jute and mesta at Rs 785 per quintal for TD-5 grades in Assam and Meghalaya while the price fixed for Bihar markets ranges between Rs 800 and 816, an official statement said here.

The minimum support rate in Tripura is fixed at Rs 756 per quintal while it is Rs 810-848 in West Bengal, the release said, adding that purchase rate was Rs 822 per quintal in Orissa and Rs 767 per quintal for Bimli middle grade in Andhra Pradesh .

JCI'S 171 purchase centres oversee the procurement, the release added.
