Doctors Organic In Sales Pact With Us Firm

The Tanuku-based Doctors Organic Chemicals Ltd (DOCL), a bulk drug producer, has tied up with Mallinckrodt of St Louis, US, for lifting almost 80 per cent of its production of Ibuprofen drug.

According to a DOCL spokesperson, the US firm will lift 300 tonnes of ibuprufen this year and double it to 600 tonnes every year from next year onwards.

Mallinckrodt is claimed to be one of the worlds largest pharmaceutical firms with a turnover of $ 2.2 billion and a worldwide marketing network.

DOCL has been promoted by the Tanuku-based Jayalakshmi Fertilisers jointly with Inchem International of the United States, with a 51 per cent NRI stake in the equity.

 

The project cost is Rs 22 crore and the sophisticated plant and machinery have been built to US FDA standards.
