Mcdonald'S To Buy World Foods Stake

McDonald's Corp said Tuesday that it agreed in principle to acquire a minority interest in World Foods, operator of Chipotle Mexican Grill, a chain of 14 Mexican restaurants in the Denver area. Terms of the transaction, expected to close soon, were not disclosed by McDonald's, the world's largest restaurant chain. "This investment will mean no change in McDonald's US strategy of growing our hamburger restaurant business," said Patrick Flynn, executive vice president of McDonald's USA.Majority ownership of World Foods will be held by Steven Ells, chief executive of Chipotle Mexican Grill.
