Poll Campaign Hits Trading In Paddy, Rice

Trading in paddy and rice have been hit by the coming Lok Sabha election as traders and buyers are reluctant to buy stocks in anticipation of electiion results.
"The market trend will very much depend on the election results and creation of the new government," market experts said.
It was one of the reason for buyers and exporters not procuring the commodity despite a strong demand for basmati rice in both local and international market.

In yesterday's trading, the prices were stable with new basmati paddy being quoted at Rs 1,900/2,175 a quintal, permal rice at Rs 830/960, old basmati paddy at Rs 2,200/2,340, new basmati rice at Rs 3,200/4,250, old basmati rice at Rs 3,550/4,750 and wheat at Rs 520/590.
Wheat mixed ruled at Rs 595/600 a quintal, government quality rice at Rs 750, double polish at Rs 800, export quality at Rs 850, PR 106 at Rs 850/900, maize at Rs 485, rice bran at Rs 20 per point, deoiled rice bran cake batch at Rs 125 per quintal, continuous at Rs 125, sunflower deoiled cake at Rs 290, cattle feed at Rs 270/300 a quintal and molasses at Rs 325.
