Pt Essar Dhananjay Cr Steel Plant Goes On Stream

Essar Steel commissioned yesterday the two-lakh- tonne cold-rolled (CR) steel project of its joint venture with an Indonesian group. The $90 million venture "� P T Essar Dhananjaya "� will source hot rolled coils from Essar's two million tonne steel plant at Hazira, Gujarat. Essar had entered into a joint venture with Indonesia's Garama group for this project. The company plans to double capacity from two lakh tonnes to take advantage of the eight per cent demand growth in CR coils. This is expected to cost $45 million.
