Tata Infotech Turnover Up 21 Per Cent To Rs 212.81cr

Tata Infotech has registered a 8 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 21.60 crore during 1996-97. The corresponding figure in the previous year was Rs 20.60 crore. The companys turnover has increased by 21 per cent to Rs 212.81 crore as against Rs 175.71 crore in 1995-96.

The company board has announced that it would offer investors one bonus equity share for every share held. The board has also recommended a 60 per cent dividend, subject to shareholders approval.

The erstwhile Tata Unisys, which had changed its name to Tata Infotech earlier last February with the transfer of the Unisys holding in the company to the Tata group, plans to intensify its marketing activities internationally.

 

The company proposes to focus its domestic marketing activities on providing systems integration services and solutions, a company press release said.

Tata Infotech also plans to expand its education and training activities, by extending the number of training centres and introducing courses.

These include programs and seminars in technology and management areas, the release added.

It may be mentioned that the company management too has undergone a change earlier this year with F C Kohli and Nirmal Jain taking over as the new chairman and managing director respectively, of the company.
