Us, G7 Mulls $10 Bn Fund For Asian Aid

The United States and the Group of Seven industrialised nations are considering creation of a $10 billion emergency trade insurance fund to help Asian firms continue manufacturing activities. James Harmon, chairman of the Export-Import Bank, the US agency that provides loan guarantees for US exporters, said the aim was to ensure companies in Asia could continue to import inputs and raw materials to maintain manufacturing.The move is being co-ordinated with Asian governments and the IMF.
