| The privately-held company, which sells its web platform software through 200-odd partner companies, has also established R&D operations in Bangalore to test its software products. |
| "Our India office is an essential part of EPiServer's global expansion strategy to serve customers in the emerging markets in Asia. The India office will support our system integrators and solutions partners in Asia, West Asia and American markets," said Mikael Runhem, founder & CTO of EPiServer. |
| The company claims to have over 2,000 customers worldwide, including Nasscom and the Knowledge Management Community in Bangalore. |
| In India, EPiServer has five partners including Satyam, which is developing the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) website using EPiServer software platform. The company aims to take its number of partners in India to 40 in the first year of its operations. |
| According to IDC, the content management market globally stood at $3.6 billion in 2006, and is estimated to reach $6 billion by 2010. |
| The Asia Pacific region including India constitutes about 6.3 per cent of the total market. Within APAC, Japan and Korea are the two major markets, followed by Australia, China and India, said Sunny Ghosh, president, EPiServer India. |
| "We are seeing the demands for portal management solutions coming from enterprise, government and community sectors in India. Our focus will be on publication & media, retail, automobile and social networking," he added. |
