Bihar elections LIVE updates:  While addressing the media, LJP (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan said, “I am glad the NDA’s performance has debunked all the false narratives spread by opposition leaders. When they claimed RJD was the largest party and that the then LoP Tejashwi Yadav would soon become CM, I had clearly stated that these claims were baseless.”  Former poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, which failed to win any seats in the Bihar Assembly elections, on Saturday expressed disappointment over its electoral performance, saying the cash transfer to women’s accounts significantly aided the NDA’s victory. Jan Suraaj Party national president Uday Singh said, “We are disappointed with the election outcome but not disheartened. Although we did not win a single seat, we will continue to oppose the ruling NDA.”
He pointed to Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, under which ₹10,000 each was transferred to women’s bank accounts, noting that the scheme—amounting to ₹40,000 crore overall—played an important role in the NDA’s victory, reported PTI.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday described the NDA’s victory in Bihar as a mandate for pro-people governance and vowed to end what he called "jungle raj" in West Bengal, declaring that the BJP’s victory march would follow the course of the Ganga from Bihar to Bengal.
Speaking at a thanksgiving event at the BJP headquarters, PM Modi said the resounding win in Bihar had energised party workers in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Assam and West Bengal, all of which go to the polls next year.

“The victory in Bihar has paved the way for the BJP’s triumph in Bengal. I assure the people of West Bengal that, with your support, the BJP will put an end to the jungle raj in the state as well,” he said. PM Modi wore a ‘gamchha’ featuring Mithila artwork to mark the occasion and opened his remarks with the chant, “Chhathi Maiyya ki Jai”.

The ruling NDA on Friday secured a clear majority in the Bihar Assembly elections, winning 202 seats in the 243-member House, after results for all constituencies were declared by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The BJP emerged as the largest party, winning 89 seats. Its ally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JD(U), won 85 seats, while Union minister Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) bagged 19 seats.

The BJP and the JD(U) contested 101 seats each, while their ally LJP (RV) put up candidates in 28 constituencies. In the INDIA bloc, the RJD fought in 141 seats, while the Congress contested 61 constituencies and the CPI(ML) Liberation 20.

Bihar election exit poll 2025 predictions: Most exit polls project a clear lead for the NDA, projecting it to secure between 130 and 167 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan is expected to win around 70 to 100 seats. A major takeaway from the surveys is the performance of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party, which, according to most estimates, is likely to bag only up to five seats.

Bihar election results date and time: When will the results be declared?
