AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide free electricity in the NDA-ruled states before the Delhi Assembly elections, promising to campaign for the saffron party if he fulfills this demand. Addressing a public gathering at 'Janta Ki Adalat', Kejriwal accused the BJP's "double engine" governments of failing across the states, predicting their ouster from Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. He termed the "double engine" model as "double loot and double corruption". "I challenge PM Modi to provide free electricity in all 22 BJP-ruled states before the Delhi Assembly elections in February. If he does, I will campaign for the BJP," Kejriwal asserted. "The exit polls show the BJP's double engine governments will soon collapse in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir," he added. Kejriwal further accused the BJP of being anti-poor, citing the removal of bus marshals and data entry operators as well as the halting of home guards' salaries in Delhi. "The

In a setback to AAP ahead of Saturday's Haryana Assembly polls, the party's Nilokheri (reserve) seat candidate Amar Singh joined the Congress on Wednesday. After joining the party, Singh said only Congress can defeat the BJP government which has been "unjust to farmers, women, Dalits, and minorities". He joined the Congress here in presence of Pratap Singh Bajwa, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, the party said in a statement. Bajwa formally inducted Singh into the party, it added. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is part of the INDIA bloc, but is contesting the Haryana elections on its own after the talks between the Arvind Kejriwal outfit and Congress last month to forge an alliance for the state polls did not materialise. The fresh setback to the AAP in Haryana comes days after its Faridabad candidate Pravesh Mehta joined the ruling BJP on September 28. Mehta had joined the BJP in Faridabad in the presence of Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar, who is the BJP MP from Farida

Several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and workers on Sunday joined the Congress in the presence of its Delhi president Devender Yadav, an official statement said. Yadav offered them Congress scarfs to welcome them into the party at the DPCC office. Yadav alleged that if the law and order situation has hit rock bottom in the national capital, both the BJP and AAP governments were equally responsible for that, the statement added. After coming out of jail, Kejriwal finds faults with everyone, including the ministers of his own government, forgetting the fact that he did not leave the chief minister's chair for more than five months when he was in jail, Yadav said, adding it paralysed governance in Delhi when the national capital suffered the ravages of waterlogging. When the Congress was in power, the law and order situation was effectively under control, people got potable water round the clock, and drains and sewers were de-silted before every monsoon to prevent waterlogging, he ..

AAP leader Manish Sisodia urged people on Monday to vote for his party in next year's Assembly polls in Delhi while asserting that only the Kejriwal-Sisodia combine can build schools in the national capital. During a foot march in Dwarka, he also said Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP's election symbol "broom" were the "real symbols" of honesty. The former Delhi deputy CM launched the "padyatra" on August 16, days after coming out of Tihar where he was lodged for 17 months in the excise policy case. The BJP left no stone unturned to tarnish his image," she said after taking charge. Atish sat on a different chair as used by Kejriwal. Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Sunday dubbed his relationship with the party's national convener Arvind Kejriwal as that of Lord Ram and Laxman and lashed at the BJP saying no "Ravan" can separate them. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva hit back, saying Sisodia was the "king of drama" and was trying to portray himself as Laxman ahead of Ramlila next month. At Kejriwal's first 'Janta ki Adalat' rally at Jantar Mantar here following his resignation as Delhi chief minister, Sisodia alleged the BJP wanted to separate him from Arvind Kejriwal but no "Ravan has the power to separate Laxman from Lord Ram". "As long as Arvind Kejriwal keeps fighting this battle as Ram against the Ravan of dictatorship, I will stand by his side as Laxman," he said. Sisodia asserted that he would not hold the post of deputy chief minister or education minister in the Delhi government unless people certify him as honest. Kejriwal resigned as Delhi chief minister post recently, saying he would hold the p
