Yoga guru Ramdev on Friday gave an undertaking in the Delhi High Court for neither issuing any disparaging statement nor publishing on social media, posts similar to his "sharbat jihad" remark against Hamdard's Rooh Afza. Patanjali Ayurved on Friday said its mega food processing plant which has been set up with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore in Nagpur will begin operations on Sunday. The Patanjali Mega Food and Herbal Park in Mihan, Nagpur with a total investment of Rs 1,500 crore will be inaugurated on March 9 in the presence of Union minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and yoga guru Ramdev, among others, it said. Patanjali Foods Ltd has recalled 4 tonnes of red chilli powder from markets following the direction from food regulator FSSAI. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) asked Patanjali Foods to recall a specified batch of packed red chilli powder due to non-conformity with food safety norms. "Patanjali Foods has recalled small batch of 4 tonnes of 'Red Chilli Powder (200 gram pack)," the company's CEO Sanjeev Asthana said in a statement. "The product sample when tested were found not conforming to the maximum permitted limit of pesticides residue. The FSSAI sets Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for pesticides residue for various food items including red chilli powder," he said. In line with specified regulatory norms, Asthana said the company has taken immediate steps to inform its distribution channel partners and also released advertisements to reach out to the consumers who have purchased the product. Under Uttar Pradesh's One District-One Product' scheme, Yoga guru Ramdev has decided to buy turmeric grown in the Bahraich district. Ramdev has signed an agreement with three Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) of the district at Patanjali Yogpeeth on Saturday. A senior official on Monday said that under the agreement, Ramdev will buy 50,000 tonnes of turmeric from Bahraich every year. The Delhi High Court will on Monday pronounce its order on a plea by several doctors' associations against Yoga guru Ramdev over his claim of 'Coronil' being a "cure" for COVID-19. The plea forms a part of a 2021 lawsuit by the doctors' associations against the Ramdev, his associate Acharya Balkrishna as well as Patanjali Ayurveda. Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani had reserved the order on the issue on May 21 after hearing the parties.
