The BJP on Thursday seized on the reported comments of Pakistani minister Khwaja Asif on Article 370 to slam the "treacherous" Congress-National Conference alliance for allegedly running the neighbouring country's agenda in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls. Several BJP leaders posted Asif's remarks to a Pakistani channel that his country shared the view of the Congress-NC alliance that Article 370, which gave the union territory special powers and was scrapped in August 2019, should be restored. Congress slams NDA govt in Bihar after houses set ablaze in Nawada

The Congress on Thursday slammed the NDA government in Bihar over the incident of setting ablaze of houses in Nawada, saying it is another proof of the "jungle raj" prevailing in the state and shows the dispensation's "utter indifference" towards Dalits and the deprived. While Congress leaders pegged the number of houses set ablaze at over 80, police said 21 houses were set on fire in Nawada district. Preliminary investigation suggested that a land dispute could be the cause behind the incident that happened in Manjhi Tola in Mufassil police station area on Wednesday evening, they said. No one was injured in the incident, they added. Ten people were detained, and a search is on to nab the other accused, police said. Odisha govt completes 100 days in office, CM Majhi to present report card

As Odisha's first BJP government completes 100 days in power on Thursday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present his ministry's report card at a function in Puri later in the day. Cong accuses centre of infringing on J-K political executive's power

The Congress on Thursday attacked the BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed to Jammu and Kashmir, and accused the NDA government of attempting to infringe on the political executive's powers in the union territory. BJP MLA Munirathna, 6 others booked for rape and sexual harassment

A case of rape, sexual harassment and criminal intimidation has been registered against BJP MLA Munirathna and six others, police said on Thursday. It was registered following the complaint of a 40-year-old woman who alleged that the incident took place at a private resort within the Kaggalipura police station's jurisdiction. "We received a complaint on Wednesday night and based on it, we have registered case against seven people, including the BJP MLA under various sections for rape by public servant, sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy, voyeurism, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, Information Technology Act, and others," a senior police officer said. The matter is being investigated, he said.
