86.5% students successful in Bihar 12th board exams, girls top all streams

Girls outperformed boys in the class 12 Bihar board exams, results for which were declared on Tuesday. The overall pass percentage in all streams was 86.50, lower than last year's 87.21. Girls outshone boys in all three streams. In Arts, 85.04 per cent of girls were declared successful as compared to 78.94 per cent of boys. In Commerce, 97 per cent of girls passed the exams as compared to 93.62 per cent of boys. In Science, 91.29 per cent of girls were declared successful as compared to 88.63 per cent of boys. Education Minister Sunil Kumar announced the result from the office of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). UP board exams: 16 solver gangs caught, 14 from principal's residence

In two separate raids here, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force has caught 16 persons solving the Class 10 English question paper of the UP Board Examination, an official said on Saturday. The paper was scheduled for the morning shift (8.30 am to 11.45 am) of the Board examination on Friday. In the first instance, 14 people were found solving the question paper at the residence of a school principal, the official said. He said a Special Task Force team, along with District Inspector of Schools Balmukund Prasad, raided the Jagannath Singh Public Inter College at Katiyamau village in Hardoi district. Acting on a tip-off, they also raided the principal's residence located 3-4 kilometres away and found five men and nine women writing the answers. One of them introduced himself as a teacher of the school. The Special Task Force has recovered 20 answer sheets from them. Exam centres with mass copying cases will be barred permanently: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said examination centres where mass copying for classes 10 and 12 board exams is reported will be barred permanently. Meanwhile, 42 cases of copying were reported on the first day of the HSC examination for class 12, according to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). Fadnavis directed officials to monitor sensitive examination centres through drones and video cameras. He directed the sacking of school employees or teachers if they were involved in facilitating copying. This decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Fadnavis also interacted with all district collectors and police officials and took stock of the preparation for exams.
