Shah condoles death of personnel, says will continue fight against Naxals

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday condoled the death of security personnel in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh, and said their valour will never be forgotten. Shah also said that the government will continue its fight against such enemies of peace and progress. "I bow to the sacrifices of our brave security personnel martyred while fighting Maoists in Chhattisgarh. Nation will never forget their valour. My condolences are with their families. We will continue our fight against these enemies of peace & progress. May injured recover soon," he said in a tweet. At least five security personnel were killed and 30 others injured on Saturday in the encounter with Naxals in a forest along the border between Bijapur and Sukma districts in Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh sees 1,423 new Covid-19 cases, 20 deaths

Chhattisgarh's COVID-19 count rose to 3,41,516 on Monday with the addition of 1,423 fresh cases, while the death toll mounted by 20 to 4,096, a health official said. The number of recovered patients increased to 3,17,239 after a total of 19 people were discharged from various hospitals while 400 others completed their home isolation stay during the day. Chhattisgarh is now left with 20,181 active cases, the official said. With 442 new cases, Raipur district's count rose to 63,653, including 881 deaths. Durg district recorded 509 new cases, Bilaspur 95 and Rajnandgaon 73, among other districts, he said. Of the 20 fatalities, nine each took place on Monday and Sunday while two patients had died earlier, he added. With 8,283 new tests, the number of samples tested for coronavirus in Chhattisgarh so far rose to 56,91,815. Chhattisgarh records 274 new coronavirus cases, 3 deaths in 24 hours

With the addition of 274 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths on Tuesday, the tally in Chhattisgarh rose to 3,11,433, while the toll increased to 3,809, a health official said. The number of people who have recovered reached 3,04,647 after 39 people were discharged from various hospitals, while 185 patients completed their home isolation during the day, leaving the state with 2,977 active cases, he said. Raipur district reported 67 new cases, taking its total count to 55,249, including 804 deaths. Durg recorded 50 new cases and Bilaspur 29, among other districts, he said. Of the three fatalities recorded during the day, two took place on Monday and one earlier, he said. With 24,044 samples tested on Tuesday, the number of tests in the state went up to 47,08,873. Chhattisgarhs coronavirus figures are as follows: Positive cases 3,11,433, new cases 274, deaths 3,809, recovered 3,04,647, active cases 2,977, total tests so far 47,08,873.
