Tamil Nadu records 198 fresh Covid-19 cases, active tally at 3,124

Tamil Nadu on Monday recorded 198 new COVID-19 cases, while both the fresh infections as well as the active numbers continued to be on the decline. Recoveries (383) outnumbered new cases, with the active cases being 2,939, according to a government bulletin. The active cases were 3,124 on Sunday. No new virus-related deaths were reported today. With the addition of the new patients, the total positive cases so far mounted to 35,90,856. Total recoveries were 35,49,869, while the toll from the virus stood at 38,048. A couple of districts showed no new infections.

Gujarat reports 42 fresh Covid-19 infections; active tally at 591

Gujarat on Monday recorded 42 new cases of coronavirus, raising the tally of infections to 12,76,573, an official from the state health department said. At least 49 patients recovered from the infection during the day, taking the count of recoveries to 12,64,944, while the toll remained unchanged at 11,038, he said. With this, the state currently has 591 active cases, of which three patients are on ventilator support, the official said. Of the latest cases, Ahmedabad reported the highest number of 15 infections, followed by Surat with 10, Sabarkantha and Vadodara five cases each and Jamnagar two, among others, he said. The state has administered 12.74 crore COVID-19 vaccine jabs so far, the official said. Gujarat's COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases 12,76,573, new cases 42, death toll 11,038, discharged 12,64,944, active cases 591, people tested so far - figures not released.

Maharashtra: Thane records 64 new Covid-19 cases; active tally at 487

Maharashtra's Thane district has recorded 64 new cases of coronavirus, taking its infection count to 7,46,415, a health official said on Monday. With the addition of the latest cases on Sunday, there are currently 487 active COVID-19 cases in the district, which falls under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, he said. The death toll in the district remained unchanged at 11,964, the official said, adding that the recovery count has reached 7,34,669.

India records 1,994 fresh Covid-19 cases, active cases down to 23,432

With 1,994 fresh cases, India's COVID-19 tally has climbed to 4,46,42,742, while the number of active cases of the infection has declined to 23,432, the Union health ministry said on Sunday. The death toll due to the viral disease has gone up to 5,28,961 with four more fatalities, according to the ministry's data updated at 8 am. The active cases account for 0.05 per cent of the total caseload, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.76 per cent, the ministry said. A decrease of 611 cases was recorded in the active Covid caseload in a span of 24 hours, it added. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.24 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.99 per cent, according to the health ministry. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has gone up to 4,40,90,349, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent. Mumbai logs 146 new Covid-19 cases, no death; active tally at 986

Mumbai on Saturday recorded 146 new cases of coronavirus that raised the tally of infections to 11,53,299, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said. The toll remained unchanged at 19,738, while the count of recoveries reached 11,32,575 after 180 patients recovered from the infection during the day, the official said. The daily count of infections has witnessed a slight decline, as the city had logged 161 cases on Friday. According to a bulletin issued by the civic body, 4,481 swab samples were tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of tests conducted so far to 1,84,22,952. With a recovery rate of 98.2 per cent, Mumbai is left with 986 active cases, it stated. Of the latest cases, only 13 patients were symptomatic. Maharashtra records 387 Covid-19 cases, 1 death, 457 recoveries in a day

Maharashtra on Saturday reported 387 COVID-19 cases and one death, which took the state's tally to 81,27,259 and the toll to 1,48,379, a health official said. The addition to the tally is lower than the 402 cases detected on Friday, he pointed out. The lone death took place in Ulhasnagar in Thane district, which is part of Mumbai Circle, the official added. Mumbai Circle accounted for 257 of the new cases, followed by 75 in Pune, 22 in Nagpur, 14 in Nashik, eight in Kolhapur, four each in Aurangabad and Akola, and three in Latur, he said. Mumbai reports 161 Covid-19 cases, 0 death in last 24 hours: BMC

Mumbai on Friday reported 161 new coronavirus infections and zero pandemic-related fatalities, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a release. It took the tally of COVID-19 cases in the city to 11,53,153, and death toll to 19,738. On Thursday, Mumbai had logged 147 new COVID-19 cases and zero fatalities. As many as 5,900 coronavirus tests were conducted since previous evening. The tally of tests conducted so far went up to 1,84,18,471. A day before, 5,122 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the city. Tally of recuperated patients rose to 11,32,395 with 178 patients recovering on Friday. The city has a recovery rate of 98.2 per cent. Mumbai has 1,020 active COVID-19 patients now. Of 161 new COVID-19 cases, only 14 patients were symptomatic.
