As emerging leaders in the field of military construction, young Military Engineer Services (MES) officers have a crucial responsibility "not only to build but to build with responsibility", President Droupadi Murmu said on Wednesday. The MES plays a vital role in strengthening the operational readiness of the country's armed forces, she said. "By providing comprehensive engineering support, MES ensures that our troops are equipped with world-class infrastructure and facilities, enabling them to remain mission-ready under all conditions," Murmu said, addressing a group of MES probationers, who had called on her at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here. Murmu further called on the officers to focus on adopting renewable energy sources to promote sustainable development and reduce the carbon footprint of defence infrastructure. The President noted that MES is actively promoting the use of indigenous materials and technologies under the Make in India initiative, aligned with the national vision

Juniper Green Energy commissions additional 43 MWp in Maharashtra

Juniper Green Energy on Tuesday announced the commissioning of an additional 43 MWp at its power project site in Wardha, Maharashtra. The project supplies power to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL), through its subsidiary, Juniper Green Power Five Pvt Ltd, a company statement said. This marks the completion of the entire 103 MWp solar component of the 129 MWp hybrid power project. With this, Juniper Green Energy has commissioned the solar capacity in two phases -- 59.55 MWp on June 6, 2025, followed by 43 MWp on July 14, 2025 -- achieving full solar capacity within just eight months of signing the PPA (power purchase agreement. This execution brings the solar portion of the hybrid power project online nearly 16 months ahead of its scheduled commissioning date of November 17, 2026. Uttarakhand cabinet clears geothermal energy policy to boost RE goals

The Uttarakhand Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Geothermal Energy Policy, under which scientific and technical research will be encouraged for the exploration of geothermal resources in the state. Official sources said here that the policy was approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Sources said that the policy's objective is to encourage scientific and technical research for the exploration of economically and environmentally viable geothermal resources in the state. Tata Steel on track for green transition in UK, Netherlands: Chandrasekaran

Tata Steel is confident of completing its transition to green steel manufacturing in the UK and Netherlands as per schedule, the company's Chairman N Chandrasekaran said on Wednesday. He made the remarks while addressing the shareholders at the company's 118th Annual General Meeting (AGM). CleanMax, Toyota Tsusho India join hands to develop 300 MW green capacity

Renewable energy solutions provider CleanMax and Toyota Tsusho India have joined hands to develop 300 megawatt capacity of renewable energy projects in India. MNRE revises norms for biomass programme to boost clean energy in India

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued revised guidelines for the biomass programme to promote cleaner energy solutions, ease of doing business, and accelerate the adoption of biomass technologies across India. The norms are revised under Phase-I of National Bioenergy Programme, applicable for the period FY 202122 to 202526. These amendments aim to promote cleaner energy solutions, ease of doing business, and accelerate the adoption of biomass technologies across the country, a ministry statement said. Under the new framework, the ministry has simplified several processes, such as cutting down on paperwork and easing approval requirements, which will enable the industry, especially MSMEs to enhance their production. These changes align with improvement of stubble management and India's broader goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2070. Emmvee bags ₹1,500 cr order from KPI Green Energy for solar module supply

Emmvee on Tuesday said it has bagged an order worth nearly Rs 1,500 crore from KPI Green Energy to supply TopCon bifacial solar modules for an upcoming project in Gujarat. Modules will be manufactured at Emmvee's facilities in Dabaspet and Sulibele, Karnataka, and deployed for an upcoming solar project in Gujarat, a company statement said. EPTA urges extension of ISTS charges waiver for green projects to 2026

Apex industry body Electric Power Transmission Association (EPTA) on Monday urged the government to safeguard the viability of around 30 GW clean energy projects facing risks from delays beyond the control of developers by extending the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) charges waiver till March 2026. Investments of about Rs 2 lakh crore will be impacted if a relief is not given to the players in the form of extension in the waiver, G P Upadhyaya, the Director General of EPTA said while speaking to the media in the national capital. The government had announced a waiver for solar and wind projects to be set up and commissioned by June 30, 2025. Upadhyaya said "around 30 GW green capacity are under advance stages of development across various states. These projects are unlikely to be set up before June this year on account of multiple reasons". NLC India receives Letter of Award from TN Green Energy Corporation

The NLC India Renewables Ltd, a subsidiary of NLC India, has received the Letter of Award (LoA) from the state government backed Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Ltd for the development of three standalone Battery Energy Storage (BES) systems in the state. This is the first large-scale BES system project to be undertaken by NLCIL Group and marks a major milestone, the Tamil Nadu-based company said. The projects would be implemented under the Build-Own-Operate model with Viability Gap Funding support, NLC India said in a press release on Sunday. Each project with an aggregate capacity of 250MW/500MWh would be established at 400/230/110 kV Ottapidaram Sub Station, Tuticorin, 400/230/110 kV Anuppankulam Sub Station in Virudhunagar district and 400/230/110 kV Kayathar Sub Station, Tuticorin in the state. The company had bagged the projects through a 'competitive bidding process', it added.

Apollo Green Energy posts ₹44.36 cr profit, recommends 15% dividend

Apollo Green Energy on Thursday posted a net profit of Rs 44.36 crore in the 2024-25 financial year. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 29.57 crore 2023-24. According to a company statement, its revenue stood at Rs 1,171 crore in 2023-24 compared to Rs Rs 726.16 crore in 2024-25. The company recommended a 15 per cent dividend for shareholders for FY25, it said. With over 400 MW of solar capacity under its portfolio across multiple states, the company is targeting an EPC order book of 1 GW by 2026. Apollo Green Energy Chairman & Managing Director Raaja Kanwar said in the statement, "We are focusing on expanding our EPC pipeline and increasing our presence in emerging areas like IPP and energy storage." With a growing order book of over Rs 3,000 crore, it stated that Apollo Green is positioning itself as a reliable player in India's clean energy space.
