CM launches AB-Chirayu Haryana Yojana, to benefit 800,000 more families

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday announced the launch of an expanded Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu Haryana Yojana that will benefit people with annual income of up to Rs 3 lakh. Khattar had earlier announced an increase in the annual income limit under the scheme from Rs 1.80 lakh to Rs 3 lakh. "By extending the coverage to families with an annual income of Rs 1.80 lakh to Rs 3 lakh and allowing them to avail treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, the government is ensuring that more people can access quality healthcare services without facing the burden of high medical expenses," an official release quoted Khattar as saying. Ayushman Bharat provides cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation. The extended coverage will benefit an additional eight lakh families, Khattar said in Fatehabad. Haryana notifies appointment policy for battle casualties' family members

The Haryana government on Monday notified a revised compassionate appointment policy for family members of armed forces and the Central Armed Police Forces personnel who die in the line of duty and are declared as "battle casualties". The policy was accorded a Cabinet nod on August 4. The earlier policy provided jobs solely to the dependents of those personnel who lost their lives in border skirmishes, terrorist attacks or riots and were formally declared as martyrs by the Ministry of Defence or the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, a statement said. According to the revised policy, dependents of martyrs who lost their lives in various incidents in the line of duty, be it in wars, IED blasts, terrorist or militant attacks, border skirmishes, United Nations peacekeeping missions or even in accidents, cardiac arrests, air crashes, and natural calamities that demand exceptional courage and dedication will be provided compassionate appointment, it said. Mobile internet services were restored in Nuh on Monday as police stepped up security ahead of Independence Day in the Haryana district where communal clashes broke out two weeks ago, police said. Following the violence on July 31, mobile internet services were completely stopped by the government till August 8. The suspension was subsequently extended till August 13. Mobile internet service restored in Haryana's Nuh two weeks after violence

Mobile internet service has been restored in Nuh district of Haryana, two weeks after it was suspended following communal clashes that claimed six lives, police said on Monday. According to the police, the service was restored Sunday midnight. Following the violence on July 31, mobile internet service was completely stopped by the government till 8 August. The suspension was subsequently extended till 13 August. A 'mahapanchayat' by Hindu outfits will be held in Haryana's Pondri village on Sunday which will take a call on resuming VHP's Braj Mandal Yatra in Nuh that was disrupted on July 31 after communal violence broke out in the area, officials said. The 'Sarva Jatiye Mahapanchayat' was originally planned to be held in Nuh district's Kira village but permission was denied for it in view of the prevailing law and order situation. Haryana extends family income limit to avail Ayushman Bharat to Rs 3 lakh

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Saturday increased the annual income limit under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana from Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 3 lakh, a move to raise the number of state beneficiaries under the scheme. Khattar made this announcement during the 'Jan Samvad programme' at Bakana village in the Yamunanagar district, said an official release. With this announcement, eight lakh more families in the state are expected to be included under the scheme, taking the total beneficiary families under the Ayushman Bharat Chirayu Haryana Yojana to 38 lakh, Khattar said. The chief minister said the state government has so far spent Rs 500 crore under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. He added that the portal for availing of Ayushman cards will be opened for one month. The Haryana government on Friday extended till Sunday the suspension of mobile internet and SMS services in Nuh where conditions are "still critical and tense". A total of 393 people have been arrested and 118 taken into preventive detention in connection with the communal clashes in Haryana earlier this month. Haryana govt rejects ethnic cleansing charge, court to hear demolition case

The Haryana government on Friday rejected in the high court the suggestion that a demolition drive in violence-hit Nuh did not follow procedure and was an exercise in ethnic cleansing, as the bench hearing the case referred it to the chief justice's court. On Monday, the Punjab and Haryana High court had halted the demolition of illegally-constructed buildings in Muslim-dominated Nuh, questioning if a particular community was being targeted after communal violence broke out there. As the case came up for hearing before the division bench of Justices Arun Palli and Jagmohan Bansal on Friday, Haryana's Additional Advocate General Deepak Sabharwal told the court that due procedure established under the law was followed. Haryana govt transfers deputy superintendent level police officer from Nuh

The Haryana government has issued an order to transfer from Nuh a police officer in the rank of deputy superintendent. According to the order issued on Monday, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Nuh) Jai Prakash has been transferred. He will take up a posting as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Police Headquarters) in Panchkula. Demolition exercise in Haryana's violence-hit Nuh halted on HC orders

The demolition drive in Haryana's Nuh where communal violence erupted last week was halted Monday on the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, officials said. The High Court restrained the Haryana government from carrying out the demolition drive in Nuh where district authorities were bulldozing "illegal" constructed buildings. They also said that some of the buildings were used by rioters when a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession was targeted by a stone-pelting mob last week. Tigra mahapanchayat gives ultimatum to police to release murder accused

A 'mahapanchayat' held here in Tigri village on Sunday demanded the release of youths arrested in connection with the killing of a Muslim cleric on August 1, giving a seven-day ultimatum to police. The panchayat also demanded the removal of the Anjuman mosque in Sector 57 since the area is Hindu-dominated. Naib Imam Mohammed Saad, 26, was killed during an attack on the Anjuman mosque by a mob in early hours of Tuesday last week.
