E-commerce marketplace Meesho expects to create over 10 lakh seasonal job opportunities across its seller and logistics ecosystem to meet the surge in demand during the upcoming festive season. The projected employment generation includes approximately 6.5 lakh jobs across its seller network and about 3.75 lakh roles across its logistics operations. "The festive season is an important period for businesses across our ecosystem to scale up and prepare for increased demand. "This year, we expect to enable over 10 lakh seasonal job opportunities... Nearly 1.3 lakh sellers are expected to hire seasonal workers across packaging, manufacturing, production, warehousing and inventory management, as they build inventory, launch new products and expand their festive collections," Meesho said in a statement on Friday. India's white-collar job market recorded a 12 per cent year-on-year growth in February, amid increasing AI adoptions and a recovery in the IT sector, a report said on Tuesday. White-collar job market posted its strongest February performance in recent years, with the Naukri JobSpeak Index reaching 3,233 points - up 12 per cent from 2,890 points in February 2025. The month-on-month acceleration from January to February came in at 23 per cent, noticeably sharper than the 13-16 per cent range typically seen between the two months, the report based on Naukri JobSpeak Index added. 76% of recruiters expect new job creation in H1 2026: Naukri survey

The Indian white-collar job market is expected to remain on a positive trajectory as 76 per cent of recruiters expect new job creation during the first half of this year, mainly led by healthcare and manufacturing sectors, a report said on Friday. Around 76 per cent of recruiters predict new job creation, a 4 percentage point increase from 72 per cent in H2 2025, and moving beyond replacement hiring to indicate continued expansion across industries, according to Naukri bi-annual Hiring Outlook survey. While the sentiment is positive across the board, Healthcare and Manufacturing are expected to lead new job creation.
