Jason Roy

Jason Roy is one of the 15 players who have been named in the England squad to play the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. Jason Roy, who made his one-day international debut on 8-May-15, had played 73 ODI matches until the 2019 World Cup. In the 71 innings he batted in, he had scored a total of 2661 runs, having faced 2522 balls, at an average of 38.57 and a strike rate of 105.51. He was unbeaten in 2 of those innings. His highest score in an innings was 180. He had 7 centuries and 12 half-centuries to his name. 

A South African born English international cricketer, Jason Roy plays for Surrey in domestic cricket. He is a right-handed batsman who opens in limited over cricket and. He made his Twenty20 International debut against India in September 2014 and his One Day International (ODI) debut against Ireland in May 2015. He was the first batsman to be given out for obstructing the field in T20I history. In April 2019, he was named in England's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
 
T20 franchises
 
After a brief Big Bash League spell with Sydney Thunder in 2015 he joined the Sydney Sixers for the 2016-17 season.  Roy was bought by Lahore Qalandars for the 2017 PSL. He played 5 matches scoring 176 runs before leaving early for national duties. In the 2018 PSL, he played 2 games for Quetta Gladiators.
 
He played three games for Gujarat Lions in the 2017 IPL. For the 2018 IPL he is playing for Delhi Daredevils, for whom he scored a match-winning 91* in his first match.
 
 
T20I
 
Roy made his Twenty20 International debut against India in September 2014 and was dismissed for 8 in his first international innings. Roy was selected in England's T20 World Cup squad but struggled initially but smashed a quickfire 78 in the semi-final against New Zealand to help England qualify for the final against the West Indies. Roy was out for a duck in the final, and England went on to lose the game. 
 
ODI
 
Roy made his One Day International debut for England against Ireland on 8 May 2015, but the match was abandoned due to rain. Roy played for England in ODIs against New Zealand and T20Is against Australia. Rou toured with the team for Sri Lanka and Pakistan series and had successful outing againts Bangladesh and India in 2016-17. In April 2019, he was named in England's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
