Moradabad: Man kills his 2 children over suspicion of wife's infidelity

A man was here for allegedly killing two children over suspicion that his wife had an extra-marital affair, the police said on Saturday.The arrested accused has been identified as Rohtash who is a resident of Nirmalpur village here and was engaged in the profession of tailoring."He stabbed his four children with a pair of scissors. One died on spot, another died during the treatment while the other two are still critical. He did this suspecting his wife of having an illicit affair. Seven-year-old Indian girl dies while crossing US-Mexico border

A seven-year-old Indian girl died in a remort desert area of Arizona while reportedly trying to cross into the United States from Mexico with a group of people, the US Customs and Border Protection has said.The child's body was found by the US Border patrol on Wednesday morning, about 27 kilometres west of the city of Lukeville, just over the US-Mexico border."A deceased child, believed to be a seven-year-old citizen of India, was discovered 17 miles west of Lukeville by U.S. Border Patrol yesterday morning," the agency said in a statement. Rajasthan Police intensify search operation to trace dacoit Jagan Gurjar

Police on Saturday intensified combing operation to trace notorious dacoit Jagan Gurjar and his accomplices after they allegedly beat two women and tore their clothes in Rajasthan's Dholpur district, a senior police official said. Nearly 500 policemen, including three companies of RAC and one Emergency Response Team (ERT), were deployed in Daang area of the district, Bharatpur IGP Bhupendra Sahu told PTI. "Some senior police officials who have worked in the area are also leading the operation," he said. Woman assaulted in Punjab for failing to repay Rs 23,000, six arrested

A woman was lashed with a leather belt, punched and kicked by a group of men after being dragged out of her house in Punjab's Muktsar district for allegedly failing to repay Rs 23,000 she had borrowed from one of them, following which six persons were arrested, police said Saturday. A video of the brutal assault has gone viral, triggering outrage. An elderly woman who was trying to stop the accused was also pushed, showed the video. Malegaon blast case: Court allows Thakur's plea for exemption from appearance

A Mumbai court has allowed the application of Bhopal MP Pragya Singh Thakur for exemption from appearance on Saturday in connection with the 2008 Malegaon blast case.The court had on June 3 directed Thakur and all other accused in the case to appear before it once a week.Thakur's lawyers had on Friday sought exemption for her from appearing before the Special NIA court today. Jyoti Chaudhary rape, murder case: Convicts move Bombay HC challenging rejection of mercy plea

Two convicts in Jyoti Chaudhary rape and murder case moved the Bombay High Court on Saturday challenging the rejection of their mercy plea by the President.The execution of Purshottam Borate and Pradeep Kokade is scheduled for June 24.A petition moved by them through lawyer Yug Chaudhary sought commutation of their death penalty.The plea is slated to be heard on June 19, according to the lawyer.22-year-old Jyoti Chaudhary was raped and murder by her company's cab driver and his friend in 2007.The Pune District and Sessions court in 2012 had sentenced the duo to death. Delhi HC says it has no jurisdiction to entertain criminal contempt reference from CAT

Delhi High Court has said it does not have the jurisdiction to entertain criminal contempt reference received from the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and remitted back the matter to the tribunal. Hearing a case, it said the CAT has exclusive jurisdiction to entertain such contempt proceedings. The High Court was hearing a case registered on the basis of reference received in April from the Principal Registrar, CAT on an order passed by the tribunal in the case involving whistleblower officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi. The order mentioned the gist of developments that had taken place in open court including issuance of a show cause notice to Mehmood Pracha, Chaturvedi's counsel to explain as to why contempt proceedings for the acts on his part be not initiated. Missing Kerala cop traced to TN

A Circle Inspector of the Kochi city police, who went missing following an argument with his superior officer has been traced to neighbouring Tamil Nadu, police said Saturday. Kochi Central Police Station Circle Inspector V S Navas was reportedly found in Karur railway station by Tamil Nadu railway police.
