BJP hits back at Rahul Gandhi, says country has moved on from lost decade

The BJP Wednesday slammed Rahul Gandhi over his comments on the Centre's Make in India initiative and said the Congress leader may have finally admitted the failures of the UPA rule but India has already moved on from that "lost decade" under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. The ruling party's reaction came after Gandhi, in a post on X, said Prime Minister Modi did not mention Make in India in his speech in the Lok Sabha and asserted that he must acknowledge that the initiative was a failure. The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha also said that no government in recent times -- the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) or the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) -- had been able to meet at scale the national challenge of providing jobs. Hitting back, BJP IT department head Amit Malviya cited data to underline the progress made by the country in various sectors under the Modi government. Rahul made 'false' claim, lowered dignity of PM's post: BJP on LoP's speech

The BJP on Monday slammed Rahul Gandhi for making "false and objectionable" claims in the Lok Sabha and said the Leader of Opposition displayed his love for China by taking the name of the country 35 times in his speech. It also hit out at former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and hoped that the Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar will take cognizance of the breach of privilege notice given by the tribal BJP members against her on Monday for using using "derogatory and slanderous" words against President Droupadi Murmu recently in the Parliament complex. Speaking during a debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, Gandhi said an INDIA bloc government would not have sent its foreign minister to the US to seek an invite for the prime minister to attend the American president's "coronation." His remarks evoked a sharp response from the BJP which accused him of resorting to "falsehood." During his speech, the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha also claimed that Pr

Bullying isn't harmless; it destroys lives: Rahul on Kerala student suicide

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said the tragic loss of a student to suicide due to bullying in a Kerala school is heartbreaking and said those responsible -- both bullies and those who failed to act -- must be held accountable. "The tragic loss of Mihir Ahammed to suicide due to bullying in a Kerala school is heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to his family," Gandhi said in a post on X. "No child should endure what Mihir faced. Schools must be safe havens for children yet he suffered relentless torment. Those responsible -- both bullies and those who failed to act -- must be held accountable," the former Congress chief said. "Bullying isn't harmless; it destroys lives. Parents must teach kindness, love, empathy, and the courage to speak up. Believe your child if they say they're being bullied, and intervene if they are the bully," Gandhi said.
