AEIM to invest ₹10,000 cr in Raipur's semiconductor plant by 2030

Semiconductor material and electronic components maker AEIM plans to invest Rs 10,000 crore in its Raipur-based facility by 2030, the company said on Monday. The company, in a regulatory filing, said it has been allotted 11.28 acre of prime industrial land by Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran (NRDA) in Kosala Industrial Park, Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, for setting up its semiconductor materials manufacturing facility. "The construction of the state-of-the-art facility will commence with immediate effect. The company is utilising advanced post-tensioned slab technology to expedite the construction process, targeting completion of the first phase by May 2026," the filing said. Chennai-based Artificial Electronics Intelligent Materials Limited (AEIML), in a statement on the development, said the investment in Chattisgarh is supported by the state's industrial policy, which has a provision for a capital subsidy of up to 40 per cent. Three killed, six injured as bus collides with truck in Raipur

Two men and a woman were killed and six other persons injured after a private bus they were travelling in collided with a truck in Chhattisgarh's capital Raipur on Tuesday, police said. The accident took place in the morning near Kendri village under Abhanpur police station limits, located 25 km from here, when the bus was heading to Raipur from Jagdalpur (Bastar district), Senior Superintendent of Police Lal Umed Singh told PTI. The bus hit the rear end of the truck, which was moving in the same direction, apparently in a bid to overtake it, he said. Three bus passengers, identified as Azhar Ali (30), resident of Kondgaon, Balram Patel (46), from Jagdalpur, and Barkha Thakur (31), from Mahasamund, died on the spot and six others suffered injuries, the official said. After being alerted, an ambulance was rushed to the spot. A police team also reached the accident site, he said. At least 13 dead, 11 injured in trailer-truck collision in Raipur

Thirteen people, all women and children, died and 11 were injured in a collision between a trailer truck and a truck in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, police said. Four children and nine women died in the road accident that happened late Sunday night near Saragaon on Raipur-Balodabazar road in Raipur district. Police officials said a family from Chataud village had gone to Bansari village to attend a family function. While returning, the truck they were travelling in collided with a trailer near Saragaon under the Kharora police station area. After getting information about the accident, a police team was sent to the spot and the injured were taken to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, Raipur. Raipur district collector Gaurav Singh said district administration officials also reached the spot. Thirteen people died and 11 people were injured in the accident, he said. Police registered a case and the matter is being investigated, the collector said.

RackBank to scale up Raipur Datacentre Park investment to ₹3,000 crore

Datacentre infrastructure firm RackBank plans to scale up investment in its newly launched AI datacentre park in Raipur to Rs 3,000 crore in five years, the company said on Saturday. The company has launched its new purpose-built AI Datacentre Park in Raipur, the first in Chhattisgarh. The facility was inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.. "Spread across 13.5 acres, the new AI Datacentre Park has been built on an initial investment of Rs 1,000 crore which is scalable to Rs 3,000 crore in 5 years," the company said in a statement. The facility capable of housing 1 lakh GPUs (Graphics Processing Unit) and 80MW power to support growing demand for advanced Al workloads. Chh'garh PWD suspends registration of contractor held in scribe murder case

Chhattisgarh Public Works Department (PWD) has suspended the registration of construction contractor Suresh Chandrakar, the main accused in the murder of a journalist in Bijapur district, officials said on Tuesday. Freelance journalist Mukesh Chandrakar (33) went missing on January 1. His body was found on January 3 in a septic tank on a property owned by Suresh Chandrakar at Chattanpara Basti in Bijapur town, police earlier said. Suresh Chandrakar, who was absconding since the murder came to light on January 3, was arrested by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Hyderabad on Sunday night, police said. After his arrest, the chief engineer of PWD Bastar circle, Jagdalpur, recommended to suspend the registration of Suresh Chandrakar, who was enrolled as 'A' category contractor with the department, an official here said. Raipur BJP MP seeks govt intervention for rollback of hike in cement prices

Raipur BJP MP Brijmohan Agrawal has raised objection over the "steep" hike in cement prices by its manufacturers and demanded intervention of the Chhattisgarh government and the Centre for a rollback of the increased cost. Agrawal said the sudden increase in the cement prices by Rs 50 per sack would affect infrastructure projects, including roads, buildings, bridges, schools, colleges and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. After Mumbai hoarding crash, Raipur civic body seeks structural reports

In the wake of the Mumbai hoarding tragedy, the Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) has instructed all advertising agencies to submit a structural report of their hoardings installed in the Chhattisgarh capital, officials said on Wednesday. A giant hoarding collapsed in Maharashtra's capital Mumbai on Monday when the city was hit by dust storms and unseasonal rains, leaving at least 14 dead and injuring several others. RMC Commissioner Abinash Mishra on Tuesday chaired a meeting of directors of various ad agencies and the corporation officials and asked to ensure that the Mumbai like tragedy should not happen in Raipur, a public relations department officer said. NIT Raipur to set up advanced semiconductor chip research centre on campus

National Institute of Technology Raipur has signed a memorandum of understanding with a Bengaluru-based firm to set up an advanced chip research and development centre on its campus in Chhattisgarh's capital, an institute official said on Sunday. The POSIT system-based general purpose-graphics processing unit (GPGPU) advanced chip research and development centre will be named ViBram Silicon Hub and assistant professor of NIT Raipur Dr Sonal Yadav will head it, a public relations officer of the institute said. POSIT number system is an alternative to Floating Point number system and claims to deliver better performance and accuracy for high-performance applications, specifically those that involve significant mathematical computations, the official said.
