Karthikeyan honours winners of 'Catch me if you can' tournament

India's first Formula one racer Narain Karthikeyan honoured the winners of 'Catch Me If You Can' -- a one-of-its-kind amateur go kart tournament for adults. The two-month long open tournament was held in February-March at SMAAASH Gurgaon, Mumbai and Delhi. The finals of 45 days of competition took place at SMAAASH Sky Karting, Gurgaon where Shourya Paul emerged the winner of the tournament. Paul became the first national winner of 'Catch me if you can' tournament and also bagged a cash prize of Rs 50,000. Justin Singh was the first runner-up and George B Jacob was the second runner-up. Expressing his excitement, Karthikeyan said, "I am happy to see the increasing interest towards motor-sports in India. Events like these are a great platform to encourage racing as a sport among youth. I wish the best for the winners, participants and SMAAASH." Swimmer Rawat takes a step towards Olympics qualification, achieves B standard

Indian swimmer Kushagra Rawat Sunday took a step forward towards qualifying for 2020 Olympics after achieving the B standard of the 800m freestyle event at the Speedo Thailand Age Group Championships in Bangkok. Rawat clocked 08.07.99 to cross the Olympic Games B standard qualifying time of 08:08.54 for the men's 800m freestyle event. He also crossed the B standard of 2019 FINA World Championships, which stood at 08:10.91, in this same event. Not only in 800m freestyle, Kushagra has made the B standard for the World Championships in the 400m freestyle with a time of 03:56.10. The Haryana Steelers on Sunday announced Rakesh Kumar, one of India's most decorated kabaddi players, as the franchise's head coach ahead of the upcoming season 7 of the Pro Kabaddi League. Kumar replaces Rambir Singh Khokhar, who was with the team since its entry into the league two seasons ago, a media release from the JSW Sports-owned franchise said. CoA meeting: Play off venues, floating sponsorship tender on agenda

Finalising venues for the IPL play-offs along with decision to float fresh tenders for various sponsorship and services will be finalised at the Committee of Administrators (CoA) meeting, here on Monday.
