McCullum announces retirement from Big Bash League
Eyeing a career in coaching, swashbuckling former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum has announced his retirement from Australia's domestic Twenty20 tournament - Big Bash League (BBL).

UCO Bank beat Tripura 10-0 in senior women hockey nationals
UCO Bank thrashed Tripura 10-0 to register their second consecutive win and top Pool H at the ninth Senior Women National Hockey Championship 2019 (B Division) here on Monday. By virtue of the win, UCO Bank climbed to the top of the pool with six points from two matches. They will next play Delhi, who have three points from two outings. In the other Pool H match of the day, Sports Authority of Gujarat registered their first win of the competition, beating Delhi by a slim 2-1 margin.

Ex-cricketer Kapil Dev to flag off Navi Mumbai Half Marathon
Former India skipper Kapil Dev will flag off the 'Tridhaatu Navi Mumbai Half Marathon' on February 17 from Vashi. Well-known marathon coach and ultra marathon athlete Norrie Williamson is the race director for the event, a media release said Monday. The race will be held in two categories - the half marathon run over a distance of 21.097 kms, where participants above 18 years of age can take part, while another category is the 'Future Generali 10K run, where participants above 16 years of age can participate, the release said.
AP govt partners with Kumble's Tenvic Sports
The Andhra Pradesh government has partnered with private sports management firm TENVIC, owned by former India captain Anil Kumble, to promote sports culture in the state. Windies captain Holder banned for slow over-rate
West Indies captain Jason Holder has been suspended for the third and final Test against England due to his team's slow over-rate during their victory in Antigua last week, the ICC announced on Monday. Cricket's governing body banned Holder, despite the hosts playing four seamers and the regular fall of wickets as England were bowled out for 187 and 132. The ICC said in a statement that the Windies were two overs short of their target for the match. Holder was previously found guilty of a slow over-rate during his team's third Test defeat by Sri Lanka last June. "(Match referee) Jeff Crowe... imposed the suspension on Holder after the Windies were ruled to be two overs short of their target after time allowances were taken into consideration," the ICC said.
