Hardik Pandya will join the team India squad for the series against New Zealand while KL Rahul will be included in India A squad that is playing five one-day games against England Lions in Thiruvananthapuram, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said.According to the release issued by the BCCI on Thursday, the decision was taken following the Committee of Administrators' (CoA) decision to lift the bans on Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul by the Senior selection committee.The release said that Hardik Pandya will be sent to New Zealand to join the team at the earliest and KL Rahul will join India A squad to play the last 3 one-day games against England Lions.Earlier on Thursday, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) on lifted the suspension of cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul with immediate effect.In a statement, the CoA said that the arbitration of all allegations of misconduct against any cricketer is required to be undertaken by the Board of Control

AIBA says progress made in fight to avoid Tokyo KO

Amateur boxing's governing body was upbeat Thursday over the steps it has taken to avoid being potentially kicked out of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The AIBA is being investigated by the International Olympic Committee which in November froze preparations for boxing at next year's Games, warning it could be stripped of the right to run the competition. Since the IOC launched their investigation the two sides have yet to meet face to face. "There is no meeting planned with the IOC up to now," AIBA executive director Tom Virgets told AFP. "AIBA is preparing documents to present that will address the additional advances that we have made on every question and area that the IOC has asked us to report on." West Indies captain Taylor skips Pakistan tour over security concerns

West Indies women's captain Stafanie Taylor will miss her team's three-match T20 international series in Pakistan which starts later this month over security concerns, Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced on Thursday. The 2016 World Twenty20 champions are set to play games in Karachi on January 31, February 1 and February 3. But all-rounder Taylor, one of the biggest stars in the women's game, will only join the squad for the following one-day international series in the United Arab Emirates. Doordarshan will now telecast live India's upcoming Davis Cup tie against Italy, after the parent body AITA moved court against the national broadcasters. The All India Tennis Association (AITA) had feared that DD may not provide the live coverage of the tie unless the judiciary intervenes since the broadcaster did not telecast major international events held in the country in the past 12 months despite a binding agreement.
