Skill-Lync partners with TN Skill Development Corp to train 10,000 students

Ed-Tech platform Skill-Lync on Wednesday announced that it will train 10,000 students in partnership with the Tamil Nadu government. The company has so far trained up to 3,640 students from 364 colleges under the 'Naan Mudhalvan' programme, launched by the Tamil Nadu government, it said in a statement. Through this partnership, Skill-Lync provides its customised 19 professional course called Industry 4.0, which upskills students on emerging technology and helped optimise manufacturing across the industry. Stalin rides Japan's Bullet train; bats for equivalent service in India

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who is on an official trip of Japan, on Sunday undertook a 500-km bullet train journey to its capital city Tokyo and said such a service could benefit the Indian citizens as well. In a tweet, he said: "Traveling from Osaka to Tokyo on #BulletTrain; will cover a distance of about 500 km in less than two and a half hours," and shared some pictures of his journey. "A railway service equivalent to #BulletTrain not only in design but also in speed and quality should come for use in our India as well. The poor and middle class people should benefit and their journey should become easier! #FutureIndia," he added. The CM had earlier embarked on a two-nation official trip of Singapore and Japan to attract more investments to Tamil Nadu.

Voltas to build new air conditioner manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu

Cooling products maker Voltas on Friday said it has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of its new air conditioner making unit at Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur district. This was part of Voltas' efforts to strengthen its "Make in India" commitment to the country and it would be investing Rs 500 crore in the TN plant, a company release on Friday said. The Tata Group company has manufacturing facilities in Pantnagar (Uttarakhand) and Waghodia and Sanand in Gujarat. The Bhoomi Pujan for the Madharapakkam unit was performed by the leadership team of the company on May 24. Chairman of Voltas Limited, Noel Tata and Managing Director & CEO of Voltas, Pradeep Bakshi, along with others were present. Income Tax authorities on Friday launched coordinated searches across different locations in Tamil Nadu linked to state Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji, police sources said, The searches were being held in cities including Karur and Coimbatore, at the premises of individuals allegedly linked to the minister, sources said without elaborating. Stalin tells Centre to direct Amul to refrain from milk procurement in TN

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to direct Gujarat-based dairy giant Amul to desist from milk procurement in the southern state with immediate effect. Writing to Shah, Stalin drew the Centre's attention to the issues arising out of milk procurement by the Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union (Amul) in the Tamil Nadu milk shed area. Recently, it has come to the state government's notice that Amul has utilised its multi-state cooperative license to install chilling centres and a processing plant in Krishnagiri district, Stalin said. Also, Amul has planned to procure milk through FPOs and SHGs in and around Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupathur, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts in Tamil Nadu.
