Bayer partners Cargill to bring digital solutions, market info to farmers

Global life sciences firm Bayer on Monday said it has signed an agreement with US-based food major Cargill to empower smallholder farmers with digital solutions, including comprehensive information on market prices, weather forecasts, and pre- to post-harvest insights. Social media giant Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has started verified service in India at a monthly subscription price of Rs 699 for mobile apps, the company said on Wednesday. Meta is planning to roll out verified service on the web in the coming months at a subscription price of Rs 599 per month. "Meta Verified is available for direct purchase on Instagram or Facebook in India starting today. People can purchase a monthly subscription for Rs 699 on iOS and Android. In the coming months, we'll also introduce a web purchase option for Rs 599 a month," the company said in a statement. Govt launches initiative to leverage emerging technologies in power sector

The government has launched a 'Mission on Advanced and High-Impact Research (MAHIR)' with a view to leverage emerging technologies in the power sector and make the country a manufacturing hub. The 'Mission on Advanced and High-Impact Research (MAHIR)' aims to facilitate indigenous research, development and demonstration of the latest and emerging technologies in the power sector, a power ministry statement said. By identifying emerging technologies and taking them to the implementation stage, the mission seeks to leverage them as the main fuel for future economic growth and thus make India a manufacturing hub of the world, it stated. The Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy have jointly launched a national mission to quickly identify emerging technologies in the power sector and develop them indigenously, at scale, for deployment within and outside India.
