NTR's daughter Uma Maheswari found hanging at Hyderabad home

Uma Maheswari, a daughter of legendary Telugu actor and late TDP founder and ex-Chief Minister N T Rama Rao (NTR), allegedly died of suicide at her residence here on Monday, police said. She was 57. Citing preliminary findings, police said ill-health and depression were suspected to be the reasons for her allegedly taking the extreme step. However, the observations were not conclusive, they said. A police official told PTI that Uma Maheswari's younger daughter, son-in-law and a woman relative broke open the door of the bedroom which was bolted from inside after failing to get a response from her. They found her hanging from the ceiling fan, he said. A case under Section 174 of CrPC (suicide) was registered at the Jubilee Hills police station, police said, adding the body was sent for post mortem. Olectra to supply 300 electric buses worth Rs 500 crore to Telangana

Olectra Greentech Ltd (OLECTRA) will supply 300 electric buses worth Rs 500 crore to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). The Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd (MEIL) group company, Evey Trans Private Ltd (EVEY), has received the Letter of Award (LoA) from TSRTC for supply of 300 electric buses to TSRTC, a statement said. According to the statement, the value of this order is approximately Rs 500 crore. EVEY shall procure these buses from Olectra Greentech Ltd, which shall be delivered over a period of 20 months. The order is to supply 300 electric buses under the FAME-II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) scheme of the government of India. These 300 e-buses will be supplied on a Gross Cost Contract (GCC)/OPEX model basis for 12 years. During the contract period, Olectra will undertake the maintenance of these buses. This transaction between OLECTRA and EVEY is to be considered related-party transactions and shall be on an arm'

Biocon receives three US FDA observations on its Telangana plant

Biotechnology major Biocon on Thursday said the US health regulator has issued three observations after inspecting its Telangana-based manufacturing plant. The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) concluded a pre-approval inspection for Site 3 located at Hyderabad on July 20, Biocon Ltd said in a regulatory filing. "Three observations were cited at the end of the inspection, which we will be addressing within the stipulated time," it added. The company stands committed to quality, safety and efficacy of its products, the Bengaluru-based company said.
