India is among the largest markets by volume and growing at a rapid pace, President of Uber India and South Asia Prabhjeet Singh has said, terming it an "incredibly important market" that presents a multi-decadal opportunity for the ride-hailing platform. Singh told PTI that mobility opportunity in India is "massive" and "underpenetrated". The company believes it has "barely scratched the surface" despite the strong line-up of products and services and the robust growth. "There is so much more to be done even though we are growing leaps and bounds," the top honcho of Uber India said. The mobility giant will continue to bring cutting-edge innovation to the market and also take India-first innovations to the rest of the world, he emphasised. A leading cab aggregator has joined hands with the IAF to offer mobility solutions for official travel and commute of air force personnel and their families, according to an official statement issued on Thursday. An MoU was signed between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Uber to that effect, a senior official said. Ola, Uber among 21 cos registered under Delhi's vehicle aggregator scheme

Over one lakh vehicles of 21 different cab aggregators, delivery service providers and e-commerce companies are now onboard the Delhi government's 'Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme', the city's transport department said on Saturday. Under the scheme, cab aggregators, delivery service providers and e-commerce entities with more than 25 vehicles in their fleet have to register to obtain a licence and it also sets a timeline for the electrification of their fleets. The non-compliant cab aggregators will face action as per the provisions of the scheme, it said. The scheme stipulates penalties ranging from Rs 5,000 up to Rs 100,000 per instance. The onboarded entities include Smartshift Logistics, ANI Technologies, the parent company of Ola, Uber India, Zomato Ltd., Blink Commerce, Swigfy Ltd, MoEVing Urban Technologies., and Roppen Transportation Services among others, it said. In a first, Uber gets aggregator licence to operate buses in Delhi

Ride hailing app Uber has received an aggregator licence by the Delhi Transport Department to operate buses in the national capital under the Delhi premium Bus Scheme, the company said in a statement. Delhi becomes the first state to award a licence for bus operations and Uber becomes the first aggregator to be granted a licence under the Delhi Premium Bus scheme, the statement said.
