Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday, following his mantra of 'pehle matdaan, phir jalpaan' (voting before breakfast), became the first voter of his booth at Gorakhnath Kanya Prathmik Vidyalaya near Jhulelal casting his vote at 7.01 am. "It is not only our right but also our duty and responsibility, as we could use our vote in urban local body elections and contribute to make the city smart and safe," Adityanath told reporters. "The weather is pleasant in May. I think it's God's blessing so that people can elect a good urban government and can cast their votes. Ekka Electronics to invest Rs 1,000 cr in 3 yrs to set up facility in Noida

Consumer electronics company Ekka Electronics on Wednesday said will investing Rs 1,000 crore to set up a factory in Noida, Uttar Pradesh and enter into the manufacturing of products such as washing machines, smart watches, hearables and TWS (true wireless stereo). The Noida plant, in which the company would invest Rs 400 crore by July this year on the acquisition of land, equipment, construction of the facility etc., will house a complete backward integration and in-house design and manufacturing solutions, said its director Sagar Gupta. The plant will manufacture TV and other products such as washing machines, smart watches, hearables and TWS. At present, the company has a setup at Sonipat, Haryana for manufacturing of LED TVs up to 43 inch screen size and set-top-boxes. "In the new plant, we would manufacture LED TVs from screen size of 43 inches to 90 inches, which is currently based on imported components and assembling. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said the BJP government focused on development rather than appeasement, which has improved the standard of living in the state. Allahabad HC remands back Katra Keshav Dev Temple land case to trial court

The Allahabad High Court on Monday remanded back to a trial court in Mathura the Katra Keshav Dev Temple-Shahi Masjid Idgah land dispute. BSP's Afzal Ansari was disqualified as a member of Lok Sabha on Monday after being convicted and sentenced to four years imprisonment in a kidnapping-and-murder case by a court in Uttar Pradesh. UP medical device park: 59 firms get land; Rs 415 crore investments

As many as 59 companies have been allotted land in the upcoming medical device park near Noida and these firms would invest around Rs 415 crore in setting up their businesses, officials said. These investments would also create direct employment opportunities for about 5,000 people, they said. The medical device park is coming up in 350 acres in Sector 28 along the Yamuna Expressway near Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on April 26 handed over allotment letters to the allottees. "The medical device park, which is set to be built on an area of 350 acres in Gautam Buddh Nagar, will not only manufacture medical devices but also create employment opportunities on a large scale," a UP government official said. Deliberations underway on date of placement of Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya

A two-day meeting of the Ram temple construction committee is underway in Ayodhya on the Ram Janmabhoomi premises.
