With a view to provide world-class training to athletes at residential sports hostels, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday proposed in the next fiscal's budget hiring of 50 international trainers. The state budget has proposed Rs 195 crore for the development of sports infrastructure in various districts, which is 67 per cent more than the current year. The state government said that 50 international players will be enlisted for training of sportsmen at an honorarium of Rs 1.5 lakh per month, state's finance minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said. He said Rs 50 crore is proposed for the construction of sports infrastructure with private participation in the state and Rs 50 crore for to reward the victorious players in national and international competitions. He said Rs 12 crore is proposed for the setting up of a sports science and injury centre.

The Uttar Pradesh government's annual budget for the next financial year has set a target of 5.1 per cent growth rate for the agriculture sector in the state. A provision of Rs 460 crore has been made for three new agriculture-related schemes in the budget. Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, while presenting the budget in the state assembly on Monday, said that the target is to achieve the growth rate of 5.1 per cent for the agriculture sector. He announced three schemes to push the agriculture sector. One of the scheme, State Agricultural Development Scheme, will have a provision of Rs 200 crore. Another Rs 200 crore has been allocated for the World Bank-assisted UP Agris Scheme. The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority on Wednesday said it has launched a scheme for allotment of 44 industrial plots and expects Rs 5,000 crore in revenue. The land allotment for industries will also generate 10,000 employment opportunities, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) said in a statement. These plots are located in six sectors and cover areas ranging from 135 square metres to 20,354 square metres, it said. "Greater Noida has emerged as a hub of industrial investment. Keeping in view the demand and need of entrepreneurs, the scheme has been launched. Possession of the plot will be given within the stipulated time. With this, thousands of youngsters will get employment opportunities along with investment in the region," GNIDA CEO NG Ravi Kumar said.
