Six school children died after a boat carrying 27 students, who were on a picnic, overturned in a lake on the outskirts of Vadodara city in Gujarat on Thursday, officials said. A search operation is underway to trace the remaining students at the Harni lake, where the incident happened, they said. Gujarat Education Minister Kuber Dindor said, "I have just learnt that six children died after a boat carrying school students overturned in a lake." "Rescue operations are underway. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the fire brigade personnel are on the job along with other agencies," he said. Vadodara district collector A B Gor said there were 27 children on the boat. "We are trying to trace and rescue others," he said. PM Modi to launch various projects, attend Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Wednesday attend an event in Ahmedabad marking the completion of 20 years of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. PM Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat from Tuesday, will also launch projects worth Rs 4,500 crore related to the education sector and address a public gathering in Bodeli town of the tribal-dominated Chhotaudepur district, officials said. PM Modi to address women in Vadodara on Sep 27 on reservation Bill

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a mega gathering of women at Navlakhi ground in Gujarat's Vadodara city on September 27 as part of his two-day visit to the state, a BJP leader said on Monday. Thousands of women from Vadodara and adjoining districts would converge at Navlakhi ground to thank PM Modi for the passage of the women's reservation bill in both Houses of Parliament last week, he said. InoxCVA to set up cryogenic tank facility in Vadodara for Rs 200 crore

Cryogenic liquid storage, distribution and re-gassification solutions provider InoxCVA will set up a manufacturing facility in Vadodara with an investment of Rs 200 crore. The 20,000 tonne per annum plant will come up at Savli, and will be the company's largest unit, according to a statement on Thursday. The ground-breaking for the project follows an MoU signed by the company with the Gujarat government last month. Siddharth Jain, a director of the company, claimed the 30-acre unit will double the present domestic cryogenic equipment manufacturing capacity. The company representatives, despite repeated calls, did not share details about the domestic market capacity or its own installed capacity. The greenfield project will fabricate over 20,000 tonnes of stainless steel equipment per annum and will be also able to produce over 2,500 cryogenic equipment annually, Jaini said. Cryogenic tanks have numerous green fuel applications for liquid hydrogen and LNG, among others.

Bajaj Healthcare completes USFDA pre-approval inspection of Vadodara plant

Bajaj Healthcare Ltd on Friday said it has successfully completed the US health regulator's pre-approval inspection of its active pharmaceutical ingredients facility located at Vadodara in Gujarat. The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) had conducted a pre-approval inspection of the facility from November 14, 2022, to November 17, 2022, Bajaj Healthcare Ltd (BHL) said in a regulatory filing. The pre-approval inspection of USFDA has completed successfully with zero Form 483 observations of the manufacturing facility, said the company, which is a manufacturer of APIs (active pharmaceutical ingredients), intermediates and formulations. Form 483 is issued to a firm's management at the conclusion of an inspection when the investigator observes any conditions that may constitute violations of the Food Drug and Cosmetic (FD&C) Act and related Acts.

6 killed, 15 injured after bus rams into trailer near Gujarat's Vadodara

Six people were killed and nearly 15 others injured after a bus rammed into a trailer on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai national highway on the outskirts of Vadodara city in Gujarat in the wee hours of Tuesday, police said. The accident took place around 4 am when the luxury bus was going towards Surat from Rajasthan, they said. It hit the trailer from behind while trying to overtake it on a bridge on the highway, an official from Panigate police station said. As many as six passengers were killed and around 15 others injured in the accident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-3) Yashpal Jaganiya said. "Four persons were killed on the spot and two others died in hospital," he said. The deceased included a child, a woman and four men, the police said.
