Prajwal Revanna convicted, Vice-Presidential election, Anil Ambani, Trump tariffs & more top

A Special Court in Bengaluru convicted former MP and suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader Prajwal Revanna in one of four rape and sexual abuse cases filed against him. The quantum of punishment against Revanna will be announced on Saturday. The election for the post of Vice-President will take place on 9th September. The post fell vacant after Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post on 22nd July. The Election Commission published the draft electoral rolls for Bihar today. The compiled list wasn't made available, but voters can check their names on the EC's website. Anil Ambani has been summoned by the ED on 5th August over an alleged ₹10,000 crore loan fraud involving suspected misuse and rerouting of funds to shell companies. US President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing steep reciprocal tariffs on imports from 69 countries. These tariffs range from 10 to 41%, with India facing a 25% duty.
