Germany, May 15 (ANI): German lawyer Claudia Waedlich on Monday appealed that the 'illegal' and 'one-sided' contract of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) be ended, adding that it should be replaced by another project that will benefit Baloch and other deprived regions of Pakistan. Waedlich added that the project will not only change the demography of Balochistan, but will also expel its natives from villages and houses.
Kathmandu, Nepal, May 14 (ANI): Voters participating in the first phase of historic local election in Nepal faced problems with the election materials at the polling booths. The problem was because of a big sized ballot paper and the ink used to stamp on election symbols in the paper.The ink used for stamping has been a matter of concern for the voters. They have to wait in the booth for a bit longer to let the blue ink dry up in order to validate their votes. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal had the biggest ballot paper with 71-centimeter length and 51-centimeter breadth. Election Commission of Nepal have campaigned to inform the voters but it seemed ineffective as many don't know the size of the ballot and folding technique. A total of 49,337 candidates including 30,005 male and 19,332 female are contesting for 13,556 posts in the first phase of the election. A total of 329 candidates, 160 women, and 169 men have already been elected unopposed.
Kathmandu, Nepal, May 14 (ANI): Over 70 percent voter turnout was recorded after voting concluded in Nepal's 34 districts of 3 provinces. At least one Nepali Congress Cadre also got killed in the poll violence. Nepal Election Commission Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma gave the information about the voter turnover as an estimated percentage. Police have identified the deceased as Nukul Bhujel of Dolakha who died during open firing after police tried to disperse the cadres who came to fight in order to capture the booth. The vote counting of the Kathmandu Valley is set to start on Sunday evening and rest of the other districts will start the counting from Monday onwards. OBOR, which the China claims to link Europe and Asia and take the world to a new era of globalization claims to develop infrastructures across Asia, Africa and Europe was propunded by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013.However, many countries are opposing One Belt One Road initiative as this will only provide economic benefit to Beijing.

Clause 69 of the Local level elections, Directive States, bars political parties from campaigning in the silence period and Clause 69 (1) does not permit them to run publicity campaign in the silence period which starts 48 hours before the polling.The political parties participating in the polls started their campaign from early in the morning by organizingdoor to door programs as well as gatherings, whereas some are scheduled to hold programs later in the afternoon. Kathmandu, Nepal, 09 May (ANI): After a cabinet meeting in Kathmandu, Government of Nepal has decided to sign the Memorandum of Understanding for the ambitious project of China "One Belt One Road" later this week.A high-level delegation led by Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara will be participating in the OBOR conference which is scheduled to be held in Beijing on May 14 and 15. Representatives of over 150 countries are expected to take part in the conference.
