Anchor targets Rs 32 cr business

BS Reporter Kolkata/ Berhampur

Mumbai-based Anchor Health and Beauty Care Private Limited (AHBCPL) aims at 50 per cent growth in its business in Orissa during 2009-10 compared to the previous fiscal.

The company had clocked a business of Rs 21 crore in 2008-09 and it intends to take it up to Rs 32 crore in this fiscal.

Similarly, the company aims to scale up its business in Jharkhand from Rs 9 crore in 2008-09 to Rs 15 crore and in Chhattisgarh from Rs 7 crore to Rs 15 crore.

Anchor Health and Beauty Care has products in two segments- oral care and soaps.

“The company recorded a higher business in the soap segment than that of oral care in the three states-Orissa, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh. The higher business in the soap segment is attributed to its top selling brand Dyna”, KC Subudhi, branch manager of the company for the Orissa region told Business Standard.

“The company is targeting the customers in semi-urban and rural areas as our products are essentially value for money products”, he added. To achieve this, the company plans to strengthen its dealer network and highlight the advantages of the products. The company, at present, has a network of 200 dealers in Orissa.

Increasing the dealers’ network is a continuous process and the company will appoint more number of dealers in Orissa to promote its products.

In an effort to promote its products in the state, the company had recently organised the dealers’ meet at Puri.
