Brigade in pact with Holiday Inn

Brigade Hospitality Services, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Brigade Enterprises Limited, a Bangalore-based real estate company, has signed a management contract with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) for a new Holiday Inn Hotel called 'Holiday Inn Bangalore International Airport'.

Said M R Jaishankar, CMD of Brigade Enterprises, "Holiday Inn Bangalore International Airport will be developed by Brigade Enterprises and will be managed by IHG."

"The hotel property is a 250 rooms with restaurants, swimming pool and a gymnasium and is slated to open and accept bookings by the beginning of year 2010," he added.

Michael Herrmann, director of operations, IHG, said "We are extremely delighted to foray into Bangalore, one of the most developed and urbane city, studded with IT and ITeS, pharma and biotech industries."

He added, "Our Holiday Inn property, will adhere to our international standards and will contribute around 250 rooms to the room demand of the city."

Prior to this tie up with INterContinental, Brigade has got a similar arrangement with ITC Group to build a Sheraton property in Bangalore. Brigade Group recently raised close to Rs 700 crore through a public offer to fund its expansion plans.
