Infotech signs contract with Malaysian firm

BS Reporter Chennai/ Hyderabad

Infotech Enterprises Limited, a Hyderabad-based provider of engineering and geographic information services (GIS), has signed a multi-year contract with Incontrol Tech Sdn Bhd (iTEC), a Malaysia-based automation services provider to the power industry.

The contract envisages implementation of an enterprise GIS information system for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), which is the largest electric utility in Malaysia with a total installed generation capacity of about 11,200 Mw. This implementation is a part of TNB’s long-term GIS rollout plan for all its circles nationwide, Infotech said in a release on Tuesday.

This is the first time that Infotech will be executing a multi-million dollar project for a Malaysian utility and the project spans over a period of 5 years. Under this project, Infotech and iTEC would be offering an SOA (service-oriented architecture)-based solution for enterprise GIS information management to TNB. This implementation would help integrate and streamline business processes across various functions within TNB.
