KPR to set up plant in East Godavari

KPR Fertilisers Private Limited is setting up a fertiliser unit at Bikkavole village in East Godavari district at an investment of Rs 20 crore.
To be inaugurated on Tuesday (June 12), the plant will have a capacity to produce 60,000 tonne of single super phosphate (SSP) and 40,000 tonne of NPK (complex fertilisers). It will provide direct employment to 300 people and indirect employment to more than 200.
"There is a huge demand-supply gap in the Andhra market. While the demand for SSP is 5 lakh tonnes, the supply is just 1.20 lakh tonne," K Rajasekhara Reddy, executive director of the company, told the media.
The company would import rock phosphate to manufacture fertiliser from Zordan though the Kakinada Port, he added.
The company has a pesticides unit in Balabhadrapuram in East Godavari district. The fertiliser unit will be inaugurated by state agriculture minister N Raghuveera Reddy.
