RSB Group lines up Rs 100 crore capex

| Engineering and heavy automotive component manufacturing house RSB Group will invest Rs 100 crore towards its expansion and technology upradation plans for the southern region. |
| The Chennai plant of the company is expected to go on stream by November this year once trial runs are completed. |
| The Rs 650-crore group has been extending its reach to Chennai by setting up a unit at the Sipcot Industrial Park near Chennai on an investment of Rs 25 crore to cater to the requirements of Caterpillar India. |
| The unit in Chennai will make the Jamshedpur-headquartered group a pan-India organisation. It currently has a presence in Jamshedpur, Dharwad, Pune and Chennai. |
| The Dharwad plant of the group has acquired another three acres of land for further expansion. |
| The plant located at the Belur Industrial Estate has a projected investment plan of Rs 28.97 crore for fiscal 2008. In 2006-07, Rs 11.96 crore was spent on greenfield development at the Dharwad plant. |
| The RSB Group has also appointed Saptendra Behera to head its southern operations. The group's core capabilities range from design to manufacturing of aggregates and systems related to commercial vehicles, passenger cars, construction equipment, farm and off-highway equipment. |
| RSB Group comprises International Auto Ltd, RSB Transmissions Ltd, US subsidiary Miller Bros Manufacturing, I-Design Engineering Solutions and i Vitesse Technologies Ltd. |
