Sail Exports Surge 48% During April-February

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has exported 7.45 lakh tonne of steel from the April to February 2002-03, recording a growth of 48 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
The company has generated business worth Rs 400 crore during December-February alone, recording the highest ever exports of hot rolled and GP coils, wire rods and billets.
The monthly cash collections from the proceeds of the overseas market soared to a level of more than Rs 100 crore in December alone, as per a statement released by the company.
